  • On-site, Remote, Hybrid
    • Schöppingen, Germany
  • Marketing

Job description

Shopware is a leading ecommerce system that enables companies worldwide to scale quickly and efficiently in digital commerce. As a trendsetting open source solution, Shopware is already used by some of the largest European brands, retailers and manufacturers in the B2C and B2B industries.

As our Senior Content Marketing Manager – SEO/GEO & Blog, you’ll play a key role in advancing our organic visibility and content activities. You’ll combine strong SEO and GEO expertise with editorial know-how and a data-driven approach to performance. Your work will not only ensure that Shopware is visible for the topics and audiences that matter most, but also make a direct contribution to our demand and lead generation and, ultimately, our sustainable growth. Working closely with teams across Shopware, our different markets, and external partners, you’ll develop content and organic touchpoints that reach potential customers throughout their customer journey and help turn interest into demand.

This position is a two-year fixed-term role covering parental leave. It can be filled on-site, hybrid, but also full-remote within Germany or specific European countries where we are registered. Your work location will be agreed upon in advance and forms the basis of your employment contract.

These are your tasks:

  • SEO & GEO Strategy: You’ll manage and prioritise our ongoing SEO and GEO activities and continuously develop Shopware’s organic visibility. You’ll coordinate keyword and content optimisation initiatives and ensure that relevant measures are effectively implemented.

  • Performance & Insights: You’ll monitor and analyse our SEO performance and translate data into actionable recommendations and priorities. You’ll regularly share relevant developments, results, and insights with internal stakeholders.

  • Agency & Stakeholder Management: You’ll manage the collaboration with our SEO agency and coordinate SEO and GEO topics across internal and external stakeholders, as well as our different markets. As a central point of contact, you’ll ensure that initiatives are aligned, prioritised, and successfully implemented.

  • Website Team Collaboration: You’ll support our Website team on SEO-related topics and help ensure that relevant measures are implemented. For technical SEO topics such as redirects or 404 errors, you’ll contribute your understanding and coordinate with the right experts without being responsible for the technical implementation yourself.

  • Blog & Content Management: You’ll coordinate and prioritise incoming blog requests as well as proactively develop your own content ideas together with relevant stakeholders. Your topics will range from ecommerce, Shopware as a product, and B2B to AI and relevant legal developments.

  • Content Creation & Editorial Excellence: You’ll create and review blog content from both an editorial and SEO perspective, ensuring consistently high content quality. Where needed, you’ll also brief and manage external freelancers.

  • AI-powered Content Creation: You’ll use AI strategically for content creation as well as SEO and GEO optimisation, and continuously improve prompts and workflows. You’ll identify new opportunities to make our content processes more efficient and impactful through AI.

  • Localisation & International Content: You’ll translate and localise content, particularly between English and German, and coordinate additional language versions such as Italian, Dutch, and French. You’ll ensure that our content remains relevant and high-quality across different markets.

  • Publishing & Quality Assurance: You’ll manage blog content in Contentful and oversee the process through to publication. Along the way, you’ll ensure adherence to our style and design guidelines and coordinate the sourcing of relevant visual assets when required.

  • Cross-functional Content Projects: You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Legal, and Marketing teams, such as Partner Marketing and Demand Generation. You’ll take ownership of cross-functional projects, including release news, new AI agents, and other strategic content initiatives.

This is what you’ll bring to the table:

  • You bring 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in content marketing, SEO, or a comparable role. You have completed a degree or vocational qualification in marketing, communications, media, or a related field, or bring an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant practical experience.

  • You have strong experience in content marketing with a focus on SEO, including solid knowledge of on-page and off-page SEO. You also keep up with developments around GEO and visibility in AI-powered search and answer engines.

  • You have experience conceptualising, creating, and optimising high-quality digital content and know how to turn complex topics into clear, relevant, and audience-focused content.

  • You take a data-driven approach and confidently use performance metrics to inform your decisions. You can translate insights into concrete actions and clearly justify priorities.

  • You confidently use generative AI and prompting for content creation and optimisation, and are motivated to explore new AI-powered approaches and continuously improve existing workflows.

  • You bring strong communication and stakeholder management skills and are comfortable collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, agencies, freelancers, and cross-functional teams.

  • You work in a structured and independent way with a strong sense of ownership. You can manage multiple priorities while ensuring that projects move from idea to successful implementation.

  • You have very good German and English language skills and are confident working on professional content in both languages.

  • A basic understanding of technical SEO and common technical website topics is a plus. However, your core expertise lies in content, strategic SEO, and organic visibility.

This is what we offer you:

  • Company Culture: Open culture with flat hierarchies, where individual initiative is encouraged.

  • Employment Contracts: Permanent positions that offer long-term security.

  • Flexibility: Flexible working hours and options for mobile work and full-remote contracts.

  • Equipment: Freedom to choose your preferred work hardware.

  • Onboarding: Well-structured onboarding with support from a personal "buddy."

  • Work Environment: An inspiring environment with dedicated colleagues and a dynamic community.

  • Development Opportunities: Diverse opportunities for personal growth and development.

  • Additional Benefits: Attractive perks such as company pension plans, health programs, and regular team events.
