Job description

Shopware is a leading ecommerce system that enables companies worldwide to scale quickly and efficiently in digital commerce. As a trendsetting open source solution, Shopware is already used by some of the largest European brands, retailers and manufacturers in the B2C and B2B industries.

The role sits within IT Operations, in the IT Infrastructure team, which is responsible for shopware AG’s internal IT infrastructure

As an IT Administrator - Cloud-Infrastructure (m/f/d), you play a key role in maintaining, optimising, and evolving our infrastructure and network architecture. Working closely with internal experts and external partners – including AWS specialists – you ensure a stable, performant, and future-ready system landscape

With a focus on automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement, you help shape Shopware’s technical foundation and drive meaningful change.

AI at Shopware IT Infrastructure

AI is becoming an integral part of our infrastructure at Shopware. From model routing and hosting AI models to cloud and self-managed infrastructure, we are building the foundation to run AI securely, efficiently, and at scale. We want you to help shape how our AI infrastructure evolves.

This position can be filled on-site, hybrid, but also full-remote within Germany. Your work location will be agreed upon in advance and forms the basis of your employment contract.

These are your tasks:

  • You take responsibility for the overall monitoring and health of our infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance, and reliability.

  • By designing and improving our network architecture, you create the basis for a scalable and efficient infrastructure

  • Together with the Security Specialist, you work on strengthening and continuously optimizing our system security.

  • Your focus includes the monitoring and cost optimization of our AWS environments as well as the ongoing development of our AWS architecture

  • Using tools such as Terraform, CloudWatch, and monitoring systems, you ensure transparency and automation across our setup.

  • You help shape our AI infrastructure, from model routing to hosting AI models across cloud and self-managed environments.

  • You prepare reports and analyses that support decision-making with clear data insights.

  • In close collaboration with the Cloud Engineering and Infrastructure teams, you contribute to projects from planning to implementation.

  • Sharing knowledge with your colleagues is part of your daily routine and helps maintain a strong internal knowledge base

This is what you’ll bring to the table:

  • You already have several years of professional experience in a similar field and have achieved demonstrable success.

  • A broad understanding of network and infrastructure systems enables you to manage and evolve complex environments.

  • You have solid Linux experience and are confident working with cloud environments, particularly AWS

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and the ability to generate meaningful system reports are part of your skill set.

  • Familiarity with Terraform helps you manage infrastructure efficiently as code.

  • Ideally, you bring experience in CI/CD, GitHub or GitHub Actions.

  • Your communication skills and team-oriented mindset foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • A high degree of self-motivation and curiosity drives you to continuously optimise existing systems.

  • Fluency in German and English (C1) allows you to work seamlessly in an international environment.

This is what we offer you:

  • Company Culture: Open culture with flat hierarchies, where individual initiative is encouraged.

  • Employment Contracts: Permanent positions that offer long-term security.

  • Flexibility: Flexible working hours and options for mobile work and full-remote contracts.

  • Development Opportunities: Diverse opportunities for personal growth and development.

  • Additional Benefits: Attractive perks such as company pension plans, health programs, and regular team events.
